If weight loss is a goal of yours save some frustration and skip the scale during these times.

1. After a meal or after a large amount of water. Common sense here with added volume to your body. Drinking less than one bottle of water is the difference between this weeks and last weeks weigh in can be 16oz.....1lb! Thats good progress in a week. The less common sense issue here is increased blood volume after a meal also causes your body to be heavier.

2. After starting a new exercise program. Water weight can fluctuate greatly when a new program is introduced. If it’s a resistance or high intensity training influenced routine water volume will be stored in the repairing process and cause gain. If it’s a cardio based program the sweat lost may go the other way and cause dehydration and a greater loss during the first week than earned.

3. During menstrual time. It’s possible to gain up to 2 pounds during this time. On top of that it may be best not to add the stress of weighing in during this time. Just focus on your discipline and what you know are the behaviors that get positive results.

4. Inconsistent weigh in times. Weighing in during different times of the day have so many variables it can’t possibly be accurate. Especially when we are talking about 1-2lbs for say a 200lbs individual. That’s not even one percent!

The scale of justice will prevail!  Behavior and effort ALWAYS reflect results!
