How to not hate your nutrition plan!!

So many times I get a client who thinks our nutrition program is going to prohibit them from enjoying anything and everything about food. Eating chicken breast and broccoli all day doesn't sound fun but they've been off of any sort of good nutrition plan for many months or years now so its time to punish themselves and pay the piper.

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

When you work on your lifestyle plan it should not be about what you cannot have but about small adjustments you can make throughout you day, an education on how food helps the body, behavior around food, stress/food relationship, and so many other positive things. None of them being negative and restrictive. When thinking about making lifestyle changes for nutrition think in the following manor:

-being mindful of what you're eating in a stressful situation

-not skipping meals to find yourself famished later

-having a piece of chocolate everyday so you don't deny, deny, deny to a point you have a whole bag every Sunday night

-why do I under eat then overeat

-etc........

Then once your individual behaviors are recognized work on easy adjustments:

-leaner proteins(90% ground instead of 80%) -you cant tell a difference

-fruit or nuts as a busy/bored snack instead of cereal or chips

-hallow out my bread at certain places to cut my non-nutritious carbs down

Not restrictive

Recognizable and mindful!
