
Summertime Rebound!

For most people summertime brings drinks, bbq’s, poolside laziness, and vacations. It’s hard to navigate a balance between a Saturday drink and brat by the pool vs. a Thursday 1/2 bottle of wine, party Friday night, lazy Saturday, another party Sunday and then a recovery Monday. Now you’ve just turned in your 1 day for 4 days headed in the wrong direction.
The above is exactly how summer catches up and more importantly it creates bad relationships with not only food and drink but with these types of events that should be fun and should be something to look forward to not dread because you know they are going to throw you off the plan.
Plan with your nutritionist and trainer on the best approach for whatever you have going on. Even if you don’t stick to the plan perfectly you may minimize the damage or at the very least be introduced to concepts that will help you in the future. Everyone varies on the issues they have with events and occurrences like the ones listed above.
Here a few common items to focus on: -Getting enough water. -Getting enough protein.
-Getting enough nutritious calories. -Getting enough steps. -A few drinks turning in to a few too many. -One event becoming 4 days of regression. -Relating an event to a disruption to the plan.
No one talks about the last one on the list but it is so important. How fast you rebound if you fall off a plan is vital to your long term success and abilities to life and an enjoyable lifestyle. Plan until it becomes part of your lifestyle. Or you will find yourself right back in the same spot next year.......Busting your ass January through June just to find yourself with the same struggles a month in to summer.
