This week I'm going to get away from my scientific approach to exercise and nutrition. I'm going to talk about how no matter how you look at where you are with your exercise and nutrition(and life in general), you are the creator. You have decided to be where you currently are. For most, this is a tough explanation. For most, they see this as a very critical statement. It is not. It is meant to help you.

Your kids are sick and you did not have a chance to workout today. This is unfortunate, but it happens, but it's your choice to sleep that extra 40 minutes or workout. You may have a spouse that comes home with fast food every night. Unfortunate? Yes, however, it is still your choice to tell them no I'm eating this not that. God forbid, you have an injury. It is your choice to find an alternative or change your training pattern until it is healthy enough to continue the normal exercise mode. When on a consistent basis someone lets these outside factors effect decisions, all of a sudden, it defines you. If you allow a series of small hiccups or a huge life disruption effect your decisions, you are no longer in control. The little events have now defined the person who you are and who you have become. Once an outside force defines who you are you will always choose to return to that person. Maybe a person eats well and exercises for a little bit but ultimately something above happens and right back to the decisions made before. If you’re broke and finally start to save a little money.....BAM, a car repair or an emergency. When these things happen over and over it is not by chance. You have chosen it. Unless.....you don't! You choose to say no. "Yep, kids got sick but listen, I have these goals so I need to sacrifice an extra 40 minutes of sleep and wake up early until they are well." YOUR CHOICE. "I really appreciate the dinner, but I am having my planned meal. Thank you anyway." YOUR CHOICE. Your creation.

Notice how things seem to pile up sometimes? If one thing goes bad another or two follow? That’s not a coincidence! Just by your “mood” or behaviors you are inviting another thing into your life. The little choices you make add up and reflect and create your life. Choose wisely my friends. Every little choice matters. Every little choice defines you.
